Good news for television series looking to expand their demographics!
Nielsen has now developed a new twitter ratings system to identify which demographics are following and tweeting about individual television series.
Deadline Hollywood Daily reports this development will assist in advertising for series that skew toward older audiences especially, by allowing them to target the youth-oriented twitter-verse. The data reporting will cover over 250 US television networks and consist of the following age ranges: 13-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-54, and 55+. Gender status will also be recorded as part of data collected. This new information will allow for further outreach to new audiences, as well as act as a detailed gauge of a show’s actively involved viewership.
